Peugeot 205's water pump... missing all of its paddle parts from the pump blades.

A new one didn't sort the overheating issues, nor did three local garages. I eventually figured out what the problem was, and fixed it - sediment in the cooling system, cleaned out with multiple flushes to the engine (radiator was fine). The engine behaved vastly better. Like new. But the loons in one of the garages I was advised to go to, had obviously thrashed the engine to make it heat up quickly. Which resulted in a warped cylinder head when they overheated it.

After that the car still ran well, but had slight coolant leak. It kept going for another two years... with a bottle of coolant kept in the boot, just in case.
