Raffles Hotel

Walking around Singapore was very much like going down memory lane.  Raffles Hotel is where the many famous people went to have a Singapore Sling.  People like Somerset Maughan, Rudiyard Kipling,Charlie Chaplin Grace Kelly and even John Wayne...as well as more  'alive' people like Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, Prince William, and Ruth Howes (whom Raffles Hotel takes it's initials from).  To have a Singapore Sling you need to go to the Long Bar where you order the drink.  while waiting for your drink there are plenty of peanuts on the table in a bowl that you crack open and then throw the shells onto the floor.  Not onto the table or into a rubbish bowl..yes onto the floor.  Unfortunately we could go in and have a Singapore Sling as they were refurbishing the Long Bar.
