Our Wednesday Paddlers headed out towards the Lyttelton Harbour heads today, stopping for a while near Ripapa Island. Such a beautiful morning, but a nasty NE got up behind us on the way back, making paddling more challenging interesting!

I've found I've been a tad more nervous since the episode on the Whanganui River - am less confident than I used to be
I talked about it with the paddler here, in the waka-ama, who is one of NZ's senior paddlers. He just said "it'll go, give it time, it's happened to me too". How good, such wise advice!

'Waka ama' is a New Zealand term for outrigger canoeing, and they are part of the culture of Pacific Ocean people.
