Deception?

This is our Bookclub choice which will be discussed tomorrow.
After we had enjoyed a walk, and roast chicken for lunch, it was time for the family to pack up their car and set off for London. My son in law was hopeful of a good run, but the traffic was heavy, there was more rain, and they got home almost four hours later. When will something be done about the A303 around Stonehenge???
I had about 100 pages to finish so spent most of the afternoon reading.
This is a well written book based on the diaries of Millicent King, who was born before World War 2 and saw a great deal of change as she lived into her nineties.
Or did she? As believable as this book is, on the bottom right hand corner of the front cover are printed two important words. "A novel"
It's very clever, but some readers might feel deceived!!
