Mowing the Land

Once again, we are mowing brush on the Oakland hill. It's a crazy chore, no doubt, fraught with dust and peril. Hornets, yellow jackets, all that could nail your ass at any moment. But the beauty is unbeatable too. Doe deer with their twin fawns with them. Eagles. California Sister butterflies. Western Bluebirds. Oak and fir forests. It is sometimes steep terrain, and I constantly consider the angle and pitch of a slope. In the end, it's all luck if we get off without a fire here, but maybe this will help.
