Milk Maker

MrsCyclops and I have a bit of a cold.  CyclopsJnr has a stomach bug and has slept most of the day.  I've been taking advantage to do a bit of gentle tidying.

This is the machine we've used to prepare CyclopsJnr's milk for most of the last three years.  The filters in the machine are good for 150 litres, and we've used about 6, so that must be around 900 litres of milk we've prepared.  He's a hungry boy, and demanded night time milk until about a month ago.  Of course there was some wastage, but that's still a lot of milk.  When we first got him home from hospital as a premature baby we were delighted if he'd take 25ml in one go...

Until recently I feel like the big changes in life as a parent have come from CyclopsJnr's extra capabilities, and other than clothes (which seem to last about 5 minutes) we've mostly got extra stuff to support those extra capabilities.  Putting away all the bottles and the milk machine feels like a big landmark, and the first major "goodbye" to a whole set of paraphernalia.  Soon it will be all the nappy related stuff, and before long his original cot bed will be rendered obselete by his ever increasing length.

Tempus fugit.
