Poaka as Narcissus

This morning I had a bit of a lie in, and mid morning went down to Southend of Snells Beach. Was a bit later in the tide cycle than I had wanted to be and so the waders were wading in water rather than on the mudflats. Pied stilts were the dominant birds, and all up there were a dozen poaka, some resting on rocks.
