Foxcote Manor is back!

Foxcote Manor, our visiting engine is back in service after replacement valves had been manufactured and fitted. A couple of days of light engine runs in the past few days and a successful loaded test run enabled this splendid locomotive ton return to service this weekend. We were supposed to have the loco during May but we'll now have it for most of August instead. Fingers and everything else crossed.

This shot was taken from the balcony of Wittersham Road Signalbox where I was on duty today. I had given the token to Northiam on the platform which was why I was able to take this shot. normally I'd be hanging over the balcony at this stage of the proceedings.

A busy Sunday service, not without its problems either. A return to the problem of getting a token out, a fault with the internal telephone exchange and an operator error at the end of the day all added to the interest of the day.
