MonoMonday: Texture

We went down to Huish Park this morning to change the new season's Yeovil football shirts that Chris had bought for him and me: somehow after our recent holiday, we seemed to need a bigger size, although the very nice lady in the club shop assured me that the material in the new kit was such that most people were finding they needed a size bigger!

When we got there, the first team were posing for photos with a young supporter who was then taken off for an impromptu tour of the stadium; he was really delighted to meet the team.

From there we went for a stroll in the grounds of Montacute House. This view of the main facade of the house is taken from the start of the avenue of trees that leads away from it. I'm hoping the texture of the stone pillars just about qualifies this for this week's challenge :)

We had a spot of lunch in the tea garden, followed by a wander round the garden and the house, which was busy with, reassuringly, a lot of families and children enjoying the various activities on offer.

The Long Gallery houses an exhibition of paintings, loaned by the National Portrait Gallery, of notable people from the Tudor and Jacobean periods, which makes for a fascinating tour.
