Sentimental Journey

This morning we took our grandchildren to Barns Ness to walk the dogs and met up with our neighbour, Marlene. Whilst Marlene, Margaret and Justine went on their usual long walk with Darci and Zoe, Emma & I took Bella, our neighbour's 12 year old Labrador down to the beach. She struggles to walk far nowadays but as always is always keen to go in the sea and to chase stones and sticks. Bella often used to go out with Zoe during the week and she has always been fixated on chasing balls, a behaviour she picked up from her former owner. For years she was a frequent companion for us on beach walks and she has always been such a lovable gentle dog, so it was nice to spend some time with her.

Whilst I can understand dogs who want to take to the water, it all the more remarkable that we have two granddaughters who are keen to plunge into the chilly waters of the Firth of Forth, after all it is the North Sea we are talking about ! Fortunately there were some sunny spells this morning but I don't think they can have warmed the water one iota. Brrrr....
