SIGNS

ETTEVAATUST SŌIDUK

Sign from Tallinn, Estonia.

One of my ex-colleagues, who was in Tallinn to attend a conference during the middle of July, kindly gave me this photo of sign she had taken there.

The yellow sign says, "ETTEVAATUST SŌIDUK." I don't even know how to say "Hi" in Estonian, but the Internet taught me those two words mean "caution" and "vehicle," respectively; so the whole communicative purpose of the sign is obvious. Also it would be easy to guess "ETTEVAATUST" is a quite common word for public signs out there. I hope I can check it someday in Estonia.
