Fennel

It takes a while to get into its stride but now flowering away as lots of other perennials in the garden are going over. 

The tree surgeons came early today to trim all our hedges. There were four of them and they buzzed around the garden for a couple of hours leaving it all looking suddenly much smarter. Unfortunately they'd borrowed my lovely Japanese pruning ladder and then taken it onto their next job thinking it was one of theirs. Fortunately their next job was our very difficult next door neighbours so it didn't take me long to retrieve it. Next year, it's going in the garage.
