Young Carers Festival

Today, Johnathan, John and I were at the Young Carers Festival at West Linton in the Borders. The festival lasts for three days (organised by the Carers Trust Scotland) and is an opportunity for young carers from as young as 8 years old to get together with other young carers to have a break and some fun as well as meeting other young carers to discuss their experiences. They are also given an opportunity to meet MSPs and other organisations and to ask questions from the professionals.

It was great to attend, and these kids are amazing, looking after parents, siblings etc. However, there are so many things that could be done to support and improve experiences for these young carers.
