From Russia with love

As I mentioned yesterday some of the team have returned from their holidays. One had stayed in Edinburgh. Another had been on a cruise where one of the stops had been St Petersburg.

I've been here twice when it was Leningrad. Once on a school trip in August 1973 (when it hailed). And once as a student on some gloriously sunny cold crisp days in December 1975 Architecturally and culturally it is a stunning city and one of my favourites. Socially it will have altered out of all recognition as I was there in the Brezhnev days.

Our colleague Anne had brought back some chocolates and the wrappers with the matryoshka figure evoked many memories.

Another colleague Ruth was back in the office on one of her KIT days before her return from maternity leave. Great to see her and her photos.

Otherwise a day of more discussions, papers and appointments keeping on top of the flow of requests and emails.
