Cambuskenneth Abbey

Founded around 1140 by King David 1st of Scotland. A later Scottish king, James 3rd is buried here as is his queen, Margaret of Denmark. The abbey is now mostly ruinous except for the 13th century bell tower which was heavily restored mid 19th century. Thus endeth the history lesson.
Quite a busy day today. As we are to become grand parents again in January, all being well, the first-size baby clothes have been brought out of storage and have all been washed and hung out to dry as here so the good sunny day was much appreciated.
So it was this evening before we got away for a quick tour round then back to walk Rona just as the sun was setting.
