Eggs Benedict

When you've been up half the night but didn't have time for breakfast… and you are in Marylebone at twenty five past eleven!

A rare treat for me these days, these little beauties come care of Fischers, a Mittel European brasserie at the Baker Street end of Marylebone High Street.

From Corbin and King, the people who brought you The Ivy, The Woolseley and The Delaunay this is food and service a cut above the average.

Despite arriving 5 minutes before the end of breakfast service my welcome was enthusiastic and positive. Settling in with an elegant pot of coffee (with an excellent spout), the table was dressed with reassuringly heavy cutlery and a properly laundered linen napkin.

The eggs and ham were of course excellent and the addition of Hungarian paprika and chives a delightful twist.
