Through the porthole

Sooner or later all our visitors get taken to Loch Katrine , in the heart of the Trossachs.
So it was this afternoon we boarded the Sir Walter Scott steamship for an hours cruise.

This boat is powered by bio-fuel, in other words old cooking oil.

Loch Katrine has a very special place in Scottish history for it is the birthplace of Scottish tourism.
Sir Walter Scott kick- started it by sitting on the banks of the loch writing his stories and one was about Rob Roy who lived at he end of the loch.

It was here too that Scott wrote his famous poem Lady of the Lake.

The loch is also the source of Glasgow's water supply.
