Riddle's Court

Lovely day today. Edinburgh Door's Open day and also an open day for prospective students at Edinburgh University. My friend and her daughter were down for this - the fact that she is now thinking about going to university makes me feel very old! It was so great to see them.

This painted ceiling at Riddle's Court is from 1895 and tells the whole story of the building from, including a representation of a banquet held for King James VI in 1598.

It is one of a surprising number of amazing buildings right in the heart of Edinburgh which are mostly unused, mainly due to Edinburgh City Council sucking.
