Dry stone walling at Doors Open Day

Busy day today. After feeding the chickens and having a wee chat with them, I cycled along the Braid Burn to King's Buildings and helped Faye at the apiary for a couple of hours. We took off the supers (including the frames from which we had extracted honey a couple of weeks ago). They had been placed back on the hives for the bees to clean up. They had done a good job and so now the supers can go into storage until next year. Then we fed the bees with sugar syrup.

After this I cycled all of 100 metres to the British Geological Survey which was taking part in Doors Open Day. My dry stone walling friends had started to build a low wall as a demonstration event for the day. We completed the wall just on 5pm when the event at BGS finished. Perfect timing. Here's a blip of our wall running down the left side of this path.
