Great Crested Grebe and chick.

While the adult birds are rather elegant, the chicks have quite unusual facial patterning.
This evening we drove over to Linlithgow and had a stroll round the Loch. One of the Grebe families posed quite nicely for us, a family of five cygnets hissed at Rona who ignored them, the ducks hung around hopefully and the coots fought each other as usual.
After a dullish day with the odd spit of rain, we had a dry evening and even saw a couple of blinks of blue sky.
