Survivors

Against the dark background the Japanese Anemones look as though they are suspended in space. They come up year after year and produce these pretty flowers mid summer. They survive in our garden despite the fact that they are at the bottom of a hedge and my co-gardener is rather gung-ho with his hedge cutter. In fact he has just had it sharpened, and can be seen prowling round the garden, seeing what he can massacre. Nothing is safe.
Blue sky here after a thunderstorm passed over, giving heavy rain for a few minutes.
