Val Dieu, Belgium

The day of the Ironman Maastricht Limburg 2017. Imagine, 3,8 kilometers swimming in the river Meuse! My longest distance in open water is two kilometers and once a week I trained in the river Meuse. But we didn't go to Maastricht to watch the swimming. We went for a bicycle ride. At Libeek we bumped into the cyclists and of course were not allowed to cross or follow the parcours for a short while. We wanted to go in the direction of Belgium and had to improvise. So we cycled up a dirt path. It soon turned out to be a rough muddy road, with deep puddles.
After the holiday, we have been cleaning our bicycles very thoroughly, but I'm afraid , that tonight we must brush the bikes again.
