La Bute du Lion

Took my friend to Belgium for the weekend and we started with a visit of La Bute du Lion at Waterloo, where Napoleon was defeated in June 1815.
Like all tourists I mounted the 226 steps up to the Lion that overlooks  from 43 mtrs hight the Waterloo grounds where once that horrendous battle was fought in the muds.
And when starting my climb up a lady disabled to walk was carried up in a special wheelchair that takes steps ~ wonderful that 3 aids did help her up and down in turns and it took them long time to get up... longer than I was there (I think an hour or more) but what a splendid help to give her! the chance of getting up and watch the Waterloo battlefields of then.
