We Strive To Conker

The weather is cold and windy and wet. Mr H and I decided to brave it out there for a quick 'round the block' walk to combat the battleship greyness of the day.

We had a quick detour to look for the local alpacas who were grazing in the field. I bet they were glad of their woolly coats. I could have been doing with a woolly hat as by the time I got back my ears were frozen.

So here are the conkers we found on our walk. The rich colours and tones and smooth shiny surfaces I find very satisfying and very autumnal. Another sign of autumn is that I have decided that mashed potato is on the menu for tonight, with veggie haggis, trouble is we have no neeps. We shall just have to manage without.
