Making rock

Today we visited the John Bull Rock Factory near Bridlington with our friends Rachel and her daughter Alice. We started our tour of the factory here in the rock making room where we were asked to help ourselves to sweets from a huge pile on a silver plate. Then the boys had a chance to roll their own rock, which is harder than it sounds as it solidifies quickly. After that we made our way through to the biscuit room where we tasted biscuits fresh from the ovens and then went on to the chocolate room. Here both boys and I made our own Belgium chocolate lollies before finishing our tour and leaving via the rock shop. We couldn't miss the opportunity to buy some mishappen nougat and ends of rock in the shop!
After all that sugar we stopped at the soft play area for them to burn it off, while Rachel and I had a coffee.
