Churchill Barriers

We popped into Kirkwall after breakfast to do a little shopping and then took a trip over the Churchill Barriers and into South Ronaldsay. Stopped off at a wonderful viewpoint looking over Scapa Flow and towards Dunnet Head where we had our lunch. Enjoyed the sunshine for a while and then travelled on to Stromness where we did some more shopping in a lovely little gift shop. We have had dinner at the Ferry Inn - also delicious but very busy - we were lucky to get a table in the bar.

We will be boarding the boat shortly - we have an overnight cabin and the ferry leaves first thing in the morning. Hope it's nice and calm!

We have really enjoyed our few days in Orkney and will definitely return to explore further.
