Placa

This is the widest and most important street in Dubrovnik,  It is beautiful in its simplicity but the back and side streets are more fascinating I think!

We enjoyed our guided walk and our wander around by ourselves.  It was good to soak up the atmosphere of the place - incredible crowded and VERY HOT.  I think it was about 36 degrees today.  According to my weather app it will be cooler by 4am when it should bottom out at 27 degrees. We eventually didn't do the wall walk, mainly because we took ourselves off round the side streets and then didn't fancy the midday sun on the walls.  Too much Game of Thrones, Kings Landing - might be devoured by the pigeons and never be seen again!

We did have an interesting phone call while we were lunching to tell us the boat had moved and we had to find it at a different place!  As we were already due to find a local bus to get back to the ship this could have been an adventure too far!  The bus was certainly an adventure - sardines in a can - very hot sweaty sardines at that!  Fortunately, I spotted the boat as we were still on the bus and we were able to get off at the next stop!  A few people didn't get the message to say the boat had moved so the cruise director has had a busier day than normal and he has had to buy us all a glass of wine tonight.

We like Dubrovnik, but would like to come back when its a bit cooler and maybe not so many tourists around!

We are off to a little island tomorrow which is famous for its wine.  Should be a much quieter day with chance for a swim!
