Snippets of Life

Deserted

Us 4 kids went for a walk this day. We started at Holywell Bay, deserted except for a lonely lifeguard and headed up along the windy cliffs passed this deserted old army training camp. As we headed down onto the far end of the 3 miles of Perranporth beach we breathed a sigh of relief, expecting to soon be out of the battering wind. It was far worse on the beach, the wind swept along the stretch of beach and whipped up sand that stung our legs and faces. There was no escaping it so we battled into it head, braced with jaws grimly clenched and eyes half shut (i even shut my fully for 1000 steps!). After a while we came across a way up and out through a (horrible) holiday park and we went for it which much enthusiasm, never have i had such a fight against wind to get somewhere. Just as we were almost out the heavens opened and soaked us through and auntie and uncle appeared to rescue our poor, soggy, shattered selves.
