Badger found the Ball

Rain is forecast for later this afternoon, so Basil and I went earlyish to East Leake for him to run round Meadow Park in the sunshine.

At the brook, we met three lads who were walking Badger and Woody. Badger, being a keen collie, would chase a tennis ball wherever it was thrown and didn't mind in the slightest that it was thrown repeatedly into the brook.

Woody, see the extra, who seemed to be Badger's companion, was a sweet terrier who loved getting in the water to scrape up the stones on the stream bed and drag them to the bank.

After our walk, we popped into see Hayley and Mandy to discuss tomorrow's shoot in Peterborough. Mandy has acquired a foster dog while his owner is in hospital and was telling me how she and Wayne are having to get used to his foibles. They're learning fast.

Hayley gave me a belated birthday gift of a scarf in a lovely sea green and a greeting card featuring two elephants, a photo that she had taken during her holiday in South Africa earlier this year. It's totally charming.

I stopped for latte and meringue at Bryers but mindful of my bid to lose weight, ate a small portion and put the rest into a bag to bring home to Len.

Back home, I've helped Len clear out a blocked drain pipe and am about to start working on my research project once more, meanwhile charging batteries for tomorrow.
