Fattening the Chicks

So heres the thing with gannets, the chick get fed and fed, and gets fatter and fatter, and when it's time to flee the nest, they are so fat and heavy that they can't fly!
So they glide down to the sea and bob along for a few days whilst they loose enough weight to fly.
Such is life for us all I guess.
