It's Raining Menai Strait

After a late arrival last night we woke to daylight and intermittent heavy showers as we drove along the Nothy Wales Expressway with a quick stop at The Puffin Cafe for breakfast.

We had been planning on going to Caernarfon Castle then Snowdon but when eating breakfast we got a call to advise the little steam train had got stuck up the mountain and our ride was cancelled, so they booked us in for tomorrow (on the diesel).

So deviation, we thought we'd have a wee look at the Menai Strait and woah, how lovely it was (built by Thomas Telford). It had stopped raining by now and after crossing over it the views were lovely... and the houses... there's money around these parts. We thought we'd like to come back here for a visit as we had to move on to Caernarfon for the castle, and woah, what a castle! Not sure how many towers we climbed but the extra is one of them!

Off to the B&B, ooh nice.. luckily we had already booked it close to the railway before they cancelled so we are 5 mins up the road from it. After a quick pint and a half, we headed for a restaurant whose head chef cooked for Nigella Lawson's first wedding... oh well, don't mind if we do! And yes, delicious it was! And zzz...
