Route 66

Highway Route 66 is one of the oldest highways in the U.S.  Stretching from Chicago to Los Angeles, it brought commerce to all the cities and states in-between...including Albuquerque.  The highway is not traveled much anymore as people prefer the Interstate highways (faster).

There is movement to restore some of the old buildings to their original form.  This filling station (gasoline/petrol), looks to be a candidate for restoration.
