Elizabethan manor house

Speke Hall, in Liverpool, is an Elizabethan manor house. Very interesting, with an internal courtyard and corridors (corridors were a fashionable innovation of the time; before then rooms tended just to lead into one another). And the house was frequented by pre-Raphaelites and their friends in the 19th century - there are lots of William Morris wallpapers.
