The Cap d'Artrutx Lighthouse

This is one of seven active lighthouses on Menorca, whch stands on a shallow limestone cliff at the west of the island. Last century, it was deemed necessary to increase its height so that the light could be seen further out to sea. In order to strengthen and stabilise the structure, the four ribbed buttresses were added.

After only three days of walking on the GR223, I am crippled with blisters from my new trekking sandals and have developed mild tendonitis in my left foot. This does not bode well.
