Torre de Fornells

This stands on a rugged limestone headland on the north coat of Menorca. It was built by the British in 1802, to protect the strategic Port of Fornells from continuous attack by the French and Spanish in their attempts to dominate Menorca. This is just one of a number of impressive defensive towers found around the coastline.
