Plus ça change...

Christmas Day

We arrived at Mam and Dad's at about 5pm and managed to squeeze our entire belated family Christmas Day into the next few hours:

- Glass of port (Dad's Christmas morning ritual)
- Crazed present opening
- Fighting over presents
- Enormous amounts of food (shepherd's pie, in a break from tradition)
- Too much wine, sweeties, cheese
- Rubbish telly that no-one has the energy to change
- Falling asleep on the sofa (everyone, in a sort of snoring relay)

As you can see, the kids were more interested in each other's presents (this being Katherine's hat). It's nice for a change to have Conor still in a photo with everyone else a blur around him.

The slightly off-centre composition is so you don't miss Dad's whisky collection on the right. Those bottles are four deep. And there's a matching cabinet on the other side of the room. Scary. He says we'll know when he's going out if he starts drinking these good bottles... ('Drinking whisky' is stored elsewhere.) Glad to see the cabinets are still nice and full (unless, of course, the bottles are all full of tea...)
