Woodrow

Well we have created a monster at our backyard bird feeders. We have red-headed woodpeckers coming in 4-5-6 at a clip fighting over their perceived territory.
Sometimes they get so into it that we have a pair rolling around on the ground under the pines in full battle mode.
By late July we have the adults bringing their newly fledged young over to the feeders, which is the beginning of a cycle of an entire new generation who will continue the whole thing all over again next Spring.

Here "Woodrow" sits on his favorite branch on a pine this morning while remaining alert and on guard against any and all interlopers that attempt to invade 'his' territory.
