We've been planning to go to the sculpture walk in Mayronnes since the beginning of July, but it's a 5-km walk with little to no shade, so we've been waiting for a cool day when we have nothing else on. That finally arrived today (of course, it's a bank holiday), so off we went.

Overcast skies mean less interesting views and poor light for photography. I'm sure this glass sculpture would have looked better against a blue sky. Extra: Ophelia in the woods.

Although it was relatively cool, it was quite muggy, so we really fancied a cold drink and/or an ice cream when we got back to the car park. Against all expectations and official opening hours, the guinguette was closed. So we stopped in Lagrasse for ice cream instead. It was buzzing with tourists, so of course the ice cream shop by the river was closed. Still, we found a cafe with decent ice cream and while eating it bumped into Monica and Serge from Sunday's jazz garden. As we left it promptly started to rain, but five minutes down the road it was dry as a bone, so S still had to go and water the garden.
