Spate

7 years we have lived here and I have never seen the stream over the fields flood but today was that day. I was out and when I came back along a shortcut I nearly floated my way home.

It has stopped though for the moment and already it is returning to normal. At least it is rain after a reasonably dry spell so here at least there is a bit of room in the rivers for it.

The Ceiriog a stony, babbling and generally calm river was transformed into a vicious spitting beast of a river all oranges, reds and browns rather than the normal sunlight dappled blues. Under this tree it powered racing ever quicker towards the Dee and ultimately the sea.

Taken and processed using a pinhole filter in PS.
