Brexit Tractor Tuesday

This will get Dr Liam Fox excited. The German councils are buying Right Hand Drive vehicles. Now is that they are re-importing  models sold to the UK and with the near collapse of the UK Pound Sterling, buying them back cheaply?

Or perhaps the Germans will put on the negotiating table the offer of the EU mainland continent changing the side they drive on in exchange for customs free rights to export in to the UK?

We will see.

Re.importing brand new German made cars back in to Germany from other EU countries has always been done but was always considered risky, the equipment in the car not always being as good as the "home" models and the manufacturers playing games with guarantee and service obligations.

However since the EU but in laws to forbid the restrictive manufacturers stranglehold on their dealers and making rights identical in all countries, the so called EU Re-import business has boomed. You will now even find main dealers who clearly have to sell the brand they represent from German stock, they are free to sell other brands from wherever they can get them. So you may have a Toyota dealer also selling VW new reimports.

On the way back to the car after the dog walk , spotted a lady who works par time in the local supermarket taking her grandchildren out for a spin on her 1955 Eicher Tractor. Not sure exactly what model. See extra photo.

(PS Mercedes give an opion for their Unimogs to move the driver' seat from left to right and back again according to circumstances)
