Ynys Llanddwyn

This is Twr Mawr lighthouse on the Ynys Llanddwyn peninsula, at the end of Newborough beach. The latter is a beautiful long and relatively empty sandy beach, but also us a fantastic place to find interesting stones, in fact the whole of Anglesey is a geologist's dream, it being a UNESCO Global Geopark. The kite surfers were out in force today, and it was blowing a gale by the time we finished our walk.

Note to anyone who visits, the Red Squirrel cafe in Newborough village is wonderfully quirky and does great coffee.
