Edinburgh's Royal Mile may have experienced an alien visitation.

This wellhead was built in 1672. The water supply system was later gravity fed from a reservoir in the Pentlands to a giant tank on Castlehill (now a tourist shopping centre of sorts) and down the Old Town spine through these grand stone pumps with their inbuilt water bowls for livestock.
