Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Angelic

The forecast wasn't promising - sharp showers and thunderstorms - but there was enough sunshine about for me to risk a couple of hours out on the Bank in the afternoon.

It was fairly quiet for wildlife, but unusually the Small Coppers were the most numerous of the butterflies, I saw eight on the walk, including this faded but rather angelic looking one resting on the heather.  There were also several Gatekeepers, a few worn Meadow Brown, Large and Green-veined White, Speckled Wood and Red Admiral. And still no Small Tortoiseshell.
