Volcano...

A cracking evening spent in an old church a 10 minute walk from our flat.

The church, for the festival season, has been turned into Leith Volcano. A beautiful, run down building, with scaffolding, lighting and a pool (for the production of Seagulls that is on for August).

An evening of great music, put on by Song, by Toad - first up was Sealionwoman. Based in London, but from Alloa. A singer and a double bass player and some pedals.
Next up was the wonderful Hubby. He will make you laugh and cry in equal measures, with his tales and tunes. I say this every time, but go and listen to some RM Hubbert. You'll thank me.

Finally we had Mersault. Neil played some tracks from his new album, plus a beautiful song by Viking Moses (who we saw in Glasgow a few years ago).
The finale came with Neil trashing the stage and then disappearing behind the screen at the back of the stage, only to return, soaking wet, having thrown himself into the Seagulls pool.

Rock n roll!

A great wee venue, some lovely music and a couple of chats with Hubby. Nice.
