Putting out feelers

Casting about for what to do today we drove to Glandore, a small, pretty, slightly toffee-nosed village not far away. It's narrow and hilly there and we had a complete reversal from our holidays as we walked up the hill for lunch. A panicked German mum, dad and daughter not able to reverse their Irish hire car on the slope. I offered to try and after a minute or two of semi-Father Ted moments, but there's no handbrake, managed to reverse it enough to get them going.
A meal outside then, eavesdropping on ladies who lunch and their tales of golf and sailing. Then a walk at Drombeg stone circle, busy with tourists, bee-laden fuchsia, butterflies and cows.
