At Home To Snails

Enjoying a few wild raspberries for our tea, Mr Flum declared that he had found a spider in his bowl. Shortly afterwards I found this snail in my own bowl, tucked down between the berries. When I removed it it made a bid for freedom by climbing up the salt mill.
We are no strangers to snails, of course, and having called on the Young Flums earlier, admired the Flumlet's growing collection of snails and now slugs, too (see extra), picking them up and holding them in his bare hands.
While the remainder of the raspberries were deliciously uncontaminated both his and my new pets have been given more suitable accommodation on our respective compost heaps.
