Well wuthered at Top Withens...

...but the rain mainly stayed away...
Helen is home alone, so she came across today to join us on a walk near Haworth. We generally head to The Peak District, so this made a change for us all - and I had never done the walk taking in the Bronte Bridge and Top Withens farm before. As one of my favourite books is Wuthering Heights this seemed as good an excuse as any - and the weather was perfect for the experience, with blustery winds and rain always threatening! The heather looked wonderful on the moors, and apart from a short time at Top Withens itself, we hardly saw anybody all day. Roy tried to tell us we'd walked about 8 miles, but our legs told us otherwise - and when he measured on the map this evening it was over 10 after all... who knew...
The main blip is of a derelict farm/mansion house on the second half of the walk rather than Top Withens itself - which is rather less inspiring ;)
The extra is on the walk up to Top Withens through the heather.
Now where is my copy of the book...
