LA BELLA VITA

Upper Gardens to Coy Pond

Spent a while (waiting for the sourdough to bake) thinking about where to go. Somewhere within walking distance to avoid crowds, tho' in the event there weren't any as the forecast wasn't promising.

And so we walked, along the Bourne River, thru' the Upper Gardens to Coy Ponds.

A variety of different and unusual trees and shrubs line the path, amongst them some giant 'rhubarb' plants. It was only when I got closer I spotted the 'cobs'.

A local lady came and chatted to me about them. Neither of us knew what they are actually called.

(On my return home, I identified the plant as 'Gunnera tinctoria').
