Ullapool blipmeet

After a good breakfast we went into the village and had a walk around the harbour. We had noticed the tall ship, Thalassa ( the one with the mermaid) coming into moor last night so went to have a closer look. Not easy to get a goo photo close up but I've only seen her from a distance before so it was good to look at the detail. The trawlers had come in with their catch and three very old looking fishing boats were moored among the modern yachts. It was nt as sunny as we hoped but dry and the low cloud made everywhere feel mysterious.
We had noticed that there was an Art Gallery at Letters, yes, that really is a place, that we had nt been to before so we thought we'd drive down there although being a Sunday we guessed it would not be open, it was not but the drive is nice  with good views through the trees to the otherside of Loch Broom.
Back over the little bridge to the otherside and we pulled into a walkers carpark to look at the view of the mountain with a misty top. In front of us the thistles had turned to seed and provided food for the Goldfinches. So we watched them pull the seed heads to pieces with bits of fluff flying everywhere.
We then met up with Beachcomber and A7, in the sunshine, and had a tasty meal in The Ferryboat Inn. We had a good table with views over water.
We walked up to their self catering for a cuppa and cake, (thank you) and a good natter and then we left them in peace.
The tall ship was nt in the harbour when we went past so we thought we'd just have a quick look to see if w could find it. We drove up to Ardmair Bay but she had gone by half and hour before. It was nice and sunny so we treated ourselves to an icecream and I walked down to the shore to take a few photos. These stone stacks looked very impressive and nice that no one had knocked them down.
We had a choice of three ways home, upwards and across to Bonor Bridge, down and round through Gairloch, both quite long journeys or the quicker way, the way we came, we chose the quick way and were home in about  an hour and a quarter .
