Balancing

A late afternoon walk around Western Springs Lake, and I saw a great variety of birds, not all of which I photographed. The spoonbills provided a range of opportunities; in the end I chose this near silhouette, which almost appears monochrome. The lines the bird provided are very pleasing.

The two extras are of a Pied Shag (Karuhiruhi) swallowing an eel whole (and possibly still alive!). Chaffinches were almost vying with sparrows for commonplace status.
